God loves a cheerful giver.  Giving is seen as worship because in doing so we acknowledge that God is the source of what I have. When it comes to giving we need to see offerings and tithes as not some sort of tax or obligation we must fulfill, but rather as an act of gratitude to God. This means that offerings may come from the wallet physically, but they start in the heart and in our relationship with God.
