February 27    Titus 1

Verse 16 is a very important verse to consider when it comes to the idea of our Christian testimony.  Professing to know God is good and we should talk about our faith.  We should express what we believe and talk about having a relationship with God.  But we should not just be all talk.  If we talk about having faith in Jesus, we also must live out that faith in our daily lives.  
It is important that our words and our actions match up. It is important that we tell of our faith and then live an example of what faith looks like.  There is a problem when we talk about being a Christian but don't live as Christians.  This is the type of hypocrisy that has put a distaste for church in a lot of people's lives.  They say things like they claim to be Christians, yet I know that they are doing ____________ (fill in the blank with a sin).  If the expectation is that Christians are perfect and never sin, then the expectation is wrong and unachievable in this life.  If the expectation is that Christians strive to live like Jesus and when they fall short, they confess their sins and turn from them, then I think this a lifestyle that others should look for in us as Christians.  Does our living match the love of God that our lips proclaim?
