Galatians 3
We cannot earn our salvation.  We cannot do a list of good things and overcome our sin. The only hope of salvation that we have is through Jesus who took on our sins at the cross and provided all of us a way of salvation for those who will believe in him.  The reality is that salvation does not come from works, but works should come from salvation.  What I mean by that is that the proper response to being saved by Jesus is begin living for him.  A proper understanding of God giving us new life in Christ is that we will live that life for Christ.  There is a real joy in living our lives in a way that serves the LORD and is obedient to God's Word.
