Galatians 1
Paul is concerned that some were turning from the truth of the Gospel to fake gospel messages.  They were being convinced to believe things that did not line up with the message of Jesus.  They did not have the Bible as we have it today because the New Testament was still being written, but they had the same message and teaching that we do.  
There are two ways that people turn from the Gospel.  One way is to add rules and regulations or some form of special knowledge or understanding.  This is where you take Jesus' words and add some extra steps of belief that are not inline with his message.  Another way of turning from the Gospel is to start taking parts out and say that certain words of Jesus no longer apply or that Jesus would think differently today.  We must not listen to anyone who wants to add or subtract from the message of the Gospel.  Let's always take Jesus at his word.  We must let Scripture give us direction.
