Philippians 1
Paul in v.6 tells the Philippians that God has begun a good work in them and will carry it on until completion. Their Christian lives were a work in progress as God was still developing them to become what He desired for them to become. It is the same way in us. We need to keep growing and developing our Christian faith. In our lives we cannot see ourselves as having "arrived" but as people who are growing in the LORD. God also has plans for His churches and will work through His body to change souls in our community.
This work of God in our lives is not always an easy or comfortable thing for us. Sometimes He brings conviction in our lives in areas where we need to change. That is part of the work that is being done in us. Sometimes we may have to serve the LORD in ways that are out of our comfort zones. That is part of the work of growing in Christ. Sometimes we may have to take a stand for what we know is right according to God and it takes courage. That is also part of God working in us. I believe that if we think correctly about our lives as Christians we will likely come to the conclusion: the more I grow in my faith the more I realize there is still more areas to grow in my relationship with God. Keep your eyes on Jesus and know that He is still has work that needs to be done in your life.
