Set your minds on things above.  This doesn't mean that we ignore the world or try to avoid making a difference for Christ in the world. What this does mean is that we don't become distracted by the world or become overly focused on fitting into the world.  To keep our eyes on things above is to put our lives in a proper focus. It is understanding what really matters.  It is living with an eye on what can make a difference for eternity.  Christmas is an interesting time because a lot of people think about Jesus more.  Things like compassion, kindness, gentleness, and love are magnified in the culture around Christmas time.  As Christians, with our eyes on things above, things like compassion, kindness, gentleness are not merely Christmas virtues but at the heart of our lives year-round.
