We often don't make a connection between the cross and Christmas.  In December we focus on a baby in manger.  That baby was God come to earth.  The baby came with an end in mind.  When we think of babies we think of what they may grow up to be and what difference their lives may make in the world.  Jesus was born with a very specific mission- he was born with a purpose and the cross was always before him.  He came to bring us the greatest gift of all.  If there is no cross there would be no celebration of Christmas.  Without the resurrection of Jesus we wouldn't even be talking about him today and certainly wouldn't be putting all of our hope in him.  As we celebrate Christmas we are brought into a time of special celebration and worship. If we remember what the story truly means for us our celebration will not be limited to couple of days in December.  We have reason to celebrate Jesus every day. Why? Because he completed the mission that brought him to earth at Christmas.
