April 6   Revelation 1
The word "soon" in Revelation needs to be remembered in the context of an eternal God who see differently than we do.  Don't get impatient or think that God is not keeping His promises because His timing is not ours. 
Verse 16 reminds us how powerful Jesus' message.  It is like a double-edged sword.  This means two things for us.  Don't take it lightly when we read the red letters in our Scriptures.  When Jesus speaks, we must listen carefully.  The second thing to remember is that the Gospel is the message of Jesus Christ.  When we share the Gospel, we share a very powerful Word of Truth to people.  It has the power to change lives when accepted.  
The Gospel has not lost its power in the world we live in today.  What has happened is that many Christians have forgotten how powerful the Gospel is and have chosen to be silent because they feel the darkness around them is too powerful.  Let us remember that darkness does not stand a chance against the light, so long as the people entrusted to spread the light don't hide the light or try to dim it.   Let's take the powerful message of God to the world with a reminder that He came in power once with a power that some people overlooked, and he will come again in power and this time he will be unmistakable and impossible to overlook.
