April 9   Revelation 4

Here John sees the throne.  This immediately reminds of God's great power, authority, and sovereignty.  We all will answer to God someday.  We will all be held accountable according to His standards.  None of us would even exists were it not for God.  We must never forget to have reverence and awe for God. Around the throne John hears praise.  We look forward to worship God face-to-face someday.  In the meantime, we need to worship Him with our lives here on Earth.  

In describing what he is seeing John frequently use the phrase "looked like".  He is trying to write down what he is seeing, but words are limited because his perspective and experience has always been Earth, not Heaven.  So, he describes what he is seeing with words that will paint a picture for us as close as we can understand.  Heaven will be even more wonderful and beautiful than what we have ever seen.  John doesn't necessarily have words to describe it, so he uses the ones that he does have with the phrase "like" attached to it.
