March 31   1 John 3
Love is something that God calls us to and demonstrates for us.  He shows us love and then He expects us to reflect that love towards others.  Jesus laid down his life for us as the ultimate act of love. Jesus actions should give us no doubt about his tremendous love and concern for us.  John makes a reference to Cain and Abel which we looked at yesterday in church. 
 Abel was living rightly with God and his brother hated him for it.  The truth is our call to love others will not always be met with a loving a response.  We may show love and kindness to others, and they may respond with hatred toward us.  It hurts sometimes to be a good person and show kindness and get treated poorly in response.  Don't give up on doing good and showing love to others.  We may be showing love and kindness to people, but ultimately, we are doing it for God.
